Nigeria vs Germany: Siasia to avoid past mistake

Nigerian U-23 coach, Samson Siasia disclosed ahead of the semi-final clash against Germany that he will not gamble with the team, the way he did when Nigeria lost 2-0 to Colombia during the group stages.
Siasia made five changes to his starting team in the Colombian game. This was after sealing up a quarter-final spot with two wins from Japan and Sweden. This gamble turned out to be the only blemish of the team in the tournament so far. “I made five changes, and that made us to lose the match against Colombia. But we are going full steam against Germany. I ‘m hopeful of having Oghenekaro Etebo back into the team and we can be sure that in every aspect the team will be in full strength,” Siasia said. Meanwhile Nigeria Football Federation president, Amaju Pinnick backed Siasia to come up with a winning formula. “As a Federation, we have always had confidence in Samson Siasia.  I have confidence that Siasia can take the team to the final match on Saturday,” Pinnick said on arriving in Sao Paulo on Tuesday morning.
