Rohr demands 101% from Eagles

Media officer to the Super Eagles, Toyin Ibitoye has said that the commitment of players and officials to the overall success of the team cannot be faulted. Gernot Rohr Speaking from the Uyo camp of the Super Eagles on Channels television Wednesday, Ibitoye said the legion of foreign based stars who reported early to camp were only doing the needful as they were under a new coach and a new dispensation. “The players are all here working hard and conducting themselves in the best manner possible. They are committed to putting up a good show against Tanzania and want to give the new man a good start,” Ibitoye said. He added that all the players were in high spirit and want to ensure they give Nigerians cause to smile.” Ibitoye said the new helmsman,
 Tuesday met with his backroom staff where he demanded commitment, respect for one another and told them that their greatest task was how to make Nigerians happy again. “Rohr asked for 101% commitment and said all that should be translated to good results in order to put smiles back on the faces of Nigerians,” Ibitoye reported. He said the new coach who was meeting some of his players for the first time also met with the players, spelling out his philosophy and asking them to work hard. “He is not entirely new to African football and therefore is familiar with some of Eagles players. It won’t take long for the players and their coach to get along. Already, there is great bonding in camp,” Ibitoye said.
