Iheanacho will score more goals for Eagles, says Dad
MANCHESTER City striker Kelechi Iheanacho has received the backing of his father to score more goals for the Super Eagles as they chase qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Iheanacho has scored four goals from six appearances for the Super Eagles. His last two goals against Tanzania and Zambia were rather spectacular. But according to James Iheancho, his father, the former Golden Eaglets star has much more to offer. “I am happy he scored again for the national team but he can do more. We are yet to see the best of him. Kelechi is ready to score in every game he enters the pitch,”
“He is back in England, he came back with the team from Zambia but went back on Monday,” Mr. Iheanacho said. Iheanacho has scored 10 goals from 30 appearances for Manchester City and according to the coach of Taye Academy, Kennedy Ezenwere, he will do well playing as a second striker. “Kelechi is best utilised as a support striker,” Ezenwere told Manchestereveningnews He can play as an attacking midfielder, and also play from the flanks. He is a natural left footer so can play from inside left.” “He is good in taking free kicks,” he said. “It is 100 percent possible that he will score against Algeria. When he was in my team, almost all the competitions we participated in, he came out as the highest goalscorer. “Kelechi will tell me I will score two goals in this match and he always delivers. That’s a natural gift.”
