Imoka Festival 2016: The beauty of great Awka culture (pics)

This is the biggest and most prestigious traditional festival common to every Awka born.
Indiegens travel from far down to their home town Awka for this great occasion which happens once a year.

The celebration attracts personalities from all areas of the state, friends and well wishers of Awka sometimes participate in the celebrationas they witness singing and dancing from assorted masquerades and masquerade men all in the bid to make the occasion colourful.

Some, Particularly Christians are of the opinion that the celebration is satanic and should be scrapped, siting bloodshed, violence and idolatry as one of the reasons to let go of the old Awka tradition, while others see it simply as a means of catching fun ones in a year and also to uphold the Igbo tradition and legacy handed over to us by our forefathers.What’s your take as an Awka indiegen?? Ghanaian Bride Refuses To Kiss Husband In Church During Their Wedding Ceremony

A mild drama ensued during a wedding ceremony in Ghana after a bride angrily refused to seal her marriage at the altar with a kiss from the groom. The lady who was visibly angry throughout the wedding -turned away her face when the man made a move to kiss her ahead of their marriage pronouncement. Not only did she remove her face but also pushed him away from her while still in an angry mood.

The whole church bursted into laughter including the man who smiled sheepishly to cover the embarrassment. The lady is currently trending online now as people are trying to fathom what will make a lady do that to her man on such a special day.

On January 20th, 1981, Ali was in a business meeting in los Angeles when he was told of a man who wanted to commit suicide in a building across the street .

Doctors and police were unable to convince the man to come down and when Ali was told of the incident he offered to talk to the man and he talked some sense into the jumper thereby saving his life.
