Angry Kenyan women beat up drunken men, say they don't satisfy them sexually

Angry women of King'eero village in Kabere constituency, Kenya, on Thursday, raided the home of a chang'aa seller and beat up four men. The group of women numbering about 50 rained slaps, kicks and blows on the drunk men during the early morning raid.
Members of Destiny of King'eero Women's Group, formed to monitor drinking joints in King'eero township, found the four men drinking at the home of a suspected chang'aa seller. The men fled to a nearby maize plantation following the ambush at the home of 50-year old Franco Okori.(pictured being questioned by the women)

"They said we were only there to sire children, give them food and wash their clothes, not control their happiness," said member Martha Wairimu. "Many young men have been affected as they normally flock the home on early mornings. They do notbring anything home but still ask for food."

Jane Chege, chairperson fo the women's group, said they found 10 liters of chang'aa in several branded bottles. Chege said many women have been miserable as their partners, who are alcoholics, do not satisfy them sexually and cannot sire children. Okori said he had been buying the alcohol from a distributor in Westlands.
"It is from Kisii. My friend brings it to me since he lives in Westlands, but my friends here beg me to sell it them. I sell it at Sh50 per glass," he said.

He was frogmarched with a sample to King'eero police station where he was locked up by the area OCS Njeri Nthiga. Michael Kang'ethe, Kiambu county alcoholic drinks and control board director, thanked the women for arresting the suspect, saying it was a good move in the fight against the consumption of illicit brews. Kang'ethe said they all bars and other outlets would be inspected to ensure only good quality alcohol is sold.
"The government cannot control the sale of illicit brews without information. We urge the public to share information that may help us fight the menace," he added.
On July 2015, President Uhuru had ordered a crackdown on illicit liquor. Their was some success initially but many reports indicate brew is back Source: The Star Kenya

Victor Moses remembers with difficulties his infancy and the tragic death of his parents. The now Chelsea player, wanted by Barcelona, indicated that his escape to England “was a long journey, really tough. What I wanted was to arrive, to work hard and to become a professional footballer.” He adds that “now I can thank God for everything that has happened. My dream has become a reality and if I continue in the same way I think I can achieve my dream one day of playing for Barcelona.” They were quotes recorded a few years ago which now take on more significance. Moses says that “when I was a kid I didn’t have shoes, but that didn’t stop us playing football.” The winger, who Barça see as a right-back, who sought asylum in England has since returned to Nigeria to represent his country. “When I was there, everyone was supporting Chelsea,” he explained. “It was good to meet fans dressed in Chelsea shirts with my name on the back. The same happened when I went to Liberia. In Africa everyone likes the Premier League.”

Police say both of them were having sex in the parking lot of McDonald's in Orange, Connecticut, this week when employees called authorities to the scene.

Chief Akande who was accompanied by governors of Oyo and Osun states, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and Rauf Aregbesola to the Ogun state government house, Abeokuta, held a closed door meeting with Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state. When asked on the alleged rift among some leaders of the party, Akande said in his short remarks “there is no crisis in the party, we are one”. Kano court sentences two fraudsters to jail for 60 and 50 years respectively

Emmanuel Moyi a.k.a Abba Musa Bello and Victor Ali Ishaya were on Thursday November 24, 2016 convicted and sentenced to sixty years and fifty years imprisonment respectively on six count charges of offences bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretences by Justice J. K. Omotosho of Federal High Court Kano.

The prosecution of the two convicts started when EFCC received a petition from some of their victims alleging that the convicts obtained several sums of money from them under the guise that they were going to give them employment and job contracts.
The convicts succeeded in their fraudulent activity through phone calls with different GSM numbers and phony names.

By the time victims had parted with huge sums of money through different bank accounts supplied by the convicts, they realised they had being duped.

Investigations by the EFCC confirmed that those accounts were specifically opened by the convicts in order to perperate their fraudulent activities.

The convicts were arraigned on 16th may, 2016 by the EFCC. Upon arraignment, they pleaded guilty to all the charges read against them.

In view of their plea, Justice Omotosho, invited the prosecution to produce their witnesses. But the prosecution counsel N.K. Ukoha only produced one witness and urged the court to convict the defendants accordingly.

The matter was then adjourned to yesterday where Justice Omotosho convicted and sentenced Emmanuel Moyi to ten years imprisonment with option of a N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira Only) fine, on each of the six counts while the second convict was sentenced to ten years imprisonment with option of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira Only) fine on each of count two to six.

Ekiti state governor who turned 56 on Tuesday November 15th, took his birthday celebration to the streets of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital yesterday, where he shared his birthday cake with them and also handed them N200 each. Speaking at the celebration, he said;
"It is a show of love to my people, we can't sit in the government house and enjoy the comfort of the office without remembering them, I got a lot of gifts on my birthday, cakes, yam tubers, cows, rice and so on, how many can I eat? How many clothes can I wear at a time?"It is just normal, just good for me to go back to the street and give it back to the people that put me in the government house, this is my style, this is me naturally, just that this time around it is more elaborate moving from one junction to the other to ensure about 500 persons per junction get something small on my birthday.
"The more people you can touch, the better for your life today and tomorrow, these are the set of people that will never walk into the government house asking for contract, asking for help, they will not even be allowed to get in unless the governor leave the comfort of his office to come and meet with them wherever they are and that is exactly what I am doing.
"This are the people that employed us into the office, they should not be abandoned for one minute, we must stay with them continuously at every opportunity"

Why Reps delivered 28 Peugeot cars to members

…Transparency group cries foul, reports fraud to EFCC …No trace of 28 exotic cars in NASS yet THE fear of being dragged to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, by the Transparency Group of the House of Representatives may have made the leadership of the House to hurriedly order for the purchase and delivery of 28 exotic cars for members, investigations revealed. This is as the cost of the Peugeot 508 model which was initially budgeted for N3.6 billion for 360 cars has gone up for N4.8 billion with each member paying N13 million instead of the former N10 million cost price of each unit. PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI INSPECTING A PEUGEOT CAR BROUGHT TO THE STATE HOUSE BY PAN NIGERIA (File) Meanwhile, there is no trace of the cars within the National Assembly complex unlike the previous tradition where such new cars would be parked at sensitive areas for onward distributions to members. The House had approved the purchase of 360 cars for oversight functions of members in the 2015 budget at the cost of N3.6 billion, but the legislature/executive face off appeared to have affected the purchase. Besides, there was outcry from members of the public who had condemned buying cars for individual members at an exorbitant price in the midst of the economic recession facing the country, just as President Muhammadu Buhari had reportedly disapproved the purchase of cars for members. Vanguard investigations revealed that the Transparency Group, which is the group opposed to the leadership of the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, had in its meeting last week, concluded cried foul over the alleged misappropriation of the money budgeted for the purchase of the vehicles since December last year and had planned to drag the leadership of the House to the EFCC. Some members of the House had confirmed to Vanguard that they were confronted by the Transparency Group that threatened to drag the Speaker and other principal officers to the anti-graft agency for allegedly “stealing” money earmarked for the purchase of the cars. This according to sources in the House forced the leadership to hurriedly order for the delivery of 28 out of the 50 to be delivered in the first phase to save its face from any embarrassment. Recall that it was reported that the delivery of 360 exotic cars to the lawmakers began last weekend amid the economic downturn in the country and that 28 units of the Peugeot 508 series had already been delivered to lawmakers in Abuja. The 28 were among the first batch of 50 cars supplied by the Kaduna-based Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited. However, Vanguard inquiry revealed that the Transparency Group had in its meeting last week concluded that the money for the purchase of the cars had been embezzled by the leadership of the House, and had decided to address the press to tell the world that the money had been stolen by the House leaders. A source within the group had said, “We wanted to bring it out to the world that, that money had been stolen. They (the House leadership) told us that before June this year, the cars will be ready, we thought that before we come back from the vacation, we will see them. “So after our meeting last week, we wanted to tell the world that the money had been stolen but we didn’t know that we have moles among us who may have leaked the information.” Although the source said that the N13 million current unit price of each car was not exorbitant, he noted that what was expected to be supplied following the tradition of the House was 400 units and not 360, adding that the Speaker will have additional 20 cars, the deputy Speaker, additional 10 and the Chairman, House Services, additional five among others. He said, “If you are buying a Peugeot at N13 million now, it is not expensive. It is about $28,000. Last week, our group sat and said among other issues that we will raise is the issue of vehicles and we confronted some of them (members loyal to Speaker). “The information we had was that they have spent the money. The purchase of cars was in the 2015 budget. What we said that they have stolen the money was what brought out the 28 cars you are seeing today. “In our meeting, there is a mole, now they have beaten us,” he stated. The member who expressed surprise that 28 cars had been delivered without the knowledge of many members said that what the lawmakers agreed on ab initio was the purchase of 2015 Model of Toyota Camry, but that because of the high price of the Camry product, they later agreed to go for Peugeot. He said that an indication that the leadership was not serious with the purchase of the vehicle was the delivery of 28 cars instead of even 50, adding, “the truth is that they have spent that money and decided to rush because we have threatened to expose them. “What they just did was to create the impression that the cars have started coming and they may not bring all. They are being clever by half. I am sure that they have not paid for them. We planned to write to the EFCC to investigate the money. I am sure somebody from our group went and told them (the leadership).” Although it was reported that the 28 units of cars were distributed to female lawmakers and members who did not occupy committee headships, a female lawmaker from the South-South told Vanguard that she had not been given the car yet. When contacted, Chairman House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Abdulrazak Namdas said, “we have taken delivery of 28 cars and the process is a gradual one. “After this batch, we will get another but according to our tradition, the ladies will get first. The next set of people are non-committee chairmen and deputy chairmen. “We opted for an indigenous firm to save cost and get a better bargain.” Vanguard gathered that the tradition before now was for the cars to be brought at the assembly complex before being distributed to the individual owners, but this was not the case this time as the cars were not brought to the complex. However, reports have it that the luxury cars would arrive in Abuja in batches till January, 2017 when all members would have picked a unit. It was further gathered that as a result of the current recession in the country, it was agreed that the lawmakers would make the payment of the car which cost N3.6 billion within 24 months or “two years’ budget.” Besides, the House has to pay additional N1.08 billion to successfully secure the N360 Peugeot that was ordered from Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited (PAN) in April. Based on the House arrangement with PAN, delivery of the 360 vehicles was to begin in July, but it was gathered that due to some hitches, the first batch, containing 50 cars, was delivered just last month. It was gathered that due to the challenges of foreign exchange, which made the naira to be far lower than the dollar, PAN was said to have requested for a review of the contract to allow for an additional N3 million on each of the 360 vehicles, totaling N1.80 billion. By this, the House would now have to pay N4.68 billion instead of the initial N3.6 billion.

Why FG is owing Shagari, OBJ, IBB, Gowon, Abdulsalami, Shonekan, Jonathan 10 months salaries, allowances

ABUJA—THE Presidency revealed yesterday that in the last 10 months, the federal government has not paid the salaries and allowances of all former Presidents in the country. They include 91-year-old  Alhaji Shehu Shagari; Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; Dr Goodluck Jonathan; former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida; General Abdulsalami Abubakar; General Yakubu Gowon and Chief Ernest Shonekan. These was revealed to senators yesterday when the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs, led by Senator Tijjani Kaura (APC, Zamfara North) visited the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Dr David Babachir Lawal. Gowon, OBJ, Shagari, IBB, Shonekan, Abdulsalami, Jonathan and Buhari A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the non-payment of former Presidents was due to President Muhammadu Buhari’s failure to give approval. The source also said the payment schedule had severally been sent for the President’s approval to assess funds in the service wide vote for the purpose, adding that all attempts in that direction were to no avail.   The SGF attributed the non-payment of the former leaders to the unavailability of funds in service wide votes for salaries of ex-Presidents. He said: “There is a department responsible for payment of former President. At present,  funds are not available in service wide votes to do that. ‘’We are aware there was a protest in Bayelsa State that the former President was not paid, but we’ve explained that he’s not the only one affected. “Others affected are inter-religious council, traditional rulers council and so on. For some reasons, we have been writing and writing, but there has been no response. And there is currently no money to pay them. “The budget for this year’s Democracy Day was N33 million, and we had to do it on credit, we are yet to pay. There are lots of retreat which ought to be organised but there’s no money to do any. The last time we got any release was in August.” But reacting to the development, the senators  kicked against the non-payment of the former Presidents, and insisted that joint efforts be made between the office of the SGF and the committee towards finding a solution to the problem they described as unfortunate. The lawmakers, who expressed their dismay over the development, also emphasized the need to draw the attention of the Budget Office and Ministry of Finance to the development, with a view to addressing the issue immediately. Vice chairman of the committee, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, who described the situation as abnormal, said:  “What we have seen here is an abnormality. Before referring any matter to the National Assembly, it is a function of the executive to appropriate funds. ‘’Therefore, the SGF should understand that there is something wrong in this office that must be addressed. “There is no way you can run the expenses of this office without cash backing. We definitely have to draw the attention of the Budget Office and Ministry of Finance to the problems.” Also speaking, Senator Aliyu Wammako, Sokoto North, who kicked against the non-payment of former President’s by the office of the SGF, said: “We can understand if former president Goodluck Jonathan has not being paid because he just left office. ‘’But for someone like Shagari, who lives from hand to mouth is something I can’t understand. This development is really unfortunate; It doesn’t indicate seriousness, and it doesn’t indicate fairness.” In an attempt to persuade the senators who expressed outright disappointment at the development, the SGF explained: “When I got into this office, there was a lot of money in this account, but there was no TSA. “Before the government left office, they jerked up salaries. We told former Presidents Jonathan and Obasanjo that they cannot earn twice what the others were earning. So we told them we wanted to review it, and we did. So they now earn what the others earn as well. “When I came into office, there was N1.5 billion in the account. We had payment of all liabilities which came to N700 million. Then we wrote to the President to return what was left to the TSA. That was how we came back to a zero balance. “It is painful to me because I know all of them (ex-Presidents) personally. Now, why have we not been able to get the money? We requested for a budget of N700m, but the President has his way of doing things. “Look around, you’ll see government vehicles breaking down every now and then. Really, I know the challenges the Budget Office is facing, but the truth is the funds are not just there. In any government, there are certain agencies that must be served first before others. So we have agreed on that. However, we will lean harder on the finance ministry to see that the situation is turned around. Babachir Lawal also urged the National Assembly to intervene by ensuring it approves funds proposed by his office in the 2017 budget to be submitted soon, saying “What is in our budget, we need your help to defend it. This is part of the change agenda, so we must learn to sew our cloth according to the material.”

Commercial bus driver allegedly killed by trigger-happy police officer in Kaduna

A commercial bus driver identified as Saminu Bara'u popularly known as Danlami was allegedly killed by a trigger-happy police officer in Maraban Jos, Kaduna State on Tuesday November 15th. Facebook user who shared the story, calling for justice, wrote;
"The incidence occurred around 8pm of Tuesday 15th November 2016 while the victim was seated outside his residence in Maraban Jos when a team of police stormed the area in the name of patrol. Having fractured his leg and being innocent, Danlami remain seated as the police arrived.
One Police Officer nicknamed KURA (literarilly mean Hyena) ordered Danlami to stand up and run before he shoots him, which he calmly replied that he cannot run because his leg is fractured displaying his crutches. Unfortunately for Danlami, the barbaric KURA shot him to dead (the pic). Immediately after he shot Danlami, angry youths descended on KURA and were about to take jungle justice on him. It took the intervention of some respected elders and a human right activist (name with-held) to rescue him. The case has since been filed at Unguwan Sunusi Police Station and we learnt that KURA was transferred to State CID. Our fear is the usual, we don't want the case dead at arrival just because a Police Officer involved. Let us stand up for justice! Let us think of his wife and 3 kids! The State Government should do something!! The IGP should ensure KURA is brought to book!!! Keep sharing until justice is done. All we want is #Justice4Danlami......... May his soul rest in peace.

FIFA WC: Algeria defeat marks Nigeria’s 100th win, says CAF

Saturday’s win over the Desert Foxes of Algeria marks Nigeria’s 100th in the history of World Cup qualifiers, the continent’s football governing body, CAF has stated on its website, CAFOnline.com CAF added that apart from the centenary win, the win also brought “plaudits for Rohr as this was his third straight win in as many matches   after the 1-0 home win   against Tanzania   in August   and 2-0 away   win against Zambia in Ndola in October.” The 100 wins had also won for the Super Eagles five World Cup appearances in 1994 when they debuted in the USA with Clemens Westerhof, 1998 in France with Bora Milutinovic, 2002 in Japan/Korea with Chief Adegboye Onigbinde, 2010 with Lars Lagerback and 2014 with late Stephen Keshi. With the World Cup qualifiers taking a long break till August 2017, Rohr affirmed that that his next priority was to see how he can monitor the home-based Eagles to know the ones that are capable of helping him plug the weak links he has discovered so far since taking over the team. “We have a friendly against Egypt in Dubai in January, which will enable me to look at the home–based players, but I will continue to monitor the foreign-based players and we will see how we get matches for them on FIFA free dates,” he stressed.

Trump will confront those with hidden agenda to Islamise Nigeria, Fani- Kayode

ABUJA- FORMER spokesperson of ex- President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign organisation, Chief Femi Fani- Kayode said yesterday that the President- elect of the United States of America, USA, Donald Trump would confront those in government with hidden agenda to islamise Nigeria and turn Nigeria into a nation of ethnic and religious vassals that must bow before President Muhammadu Buhari and his kinsmen. In a statement yesterday in Abuja, Fani- Kayode who personally signed the statement congratulating the President- elect, said that his victory was a fulfilment of prophesing, said, “He will also confront their hidden agenda to islamise Nigeria and turn us into a nation of ethnic and religious vassals that must bow before President Muhammadu Buhari and his kinsmen. FEMI FANI-KAYODE “For those that wield political power in Nigeria and for the small cabal of ethnic hegemonists, “born to rule” irredentists and religious bigots that run the affairs of our nation, the writing is on the wall. “Their days are numbered because those that put them in power from America have themselves been shamed and removed from power by the Living God.” The former Minister of Aviation who tagged his statement, ” head bloodied but not bowed and the ascension of President- elect, Donald J. Trump( Part2) read in full, “Though rather belated, I hereby congratulate President-elect Donald Trump on a magnificent victory at the polls in America and I wish him well. “I have been an ardent supporter of a Trump presidency for the last one year and I wrote two essays predicting his victory and stating the reasons why I supported him during the primaries and before the election respectively. “More importantly the election of Trump was a fulfilment of prophecy. His ascension to power was propelled by a force and power that is not of this world and that simply cannot be resisted by any human being or satanic conspiracy. “Simply put the Lord Himself raised and prepared Trump and He will use him to bring glory to His name, to effect His purpose and to establish His counsel and will in the United States of America and indeed the entire free world. “Most importantly I celebrate the fact that with His son and servant Donald J. Trump in the saddle, God Himself will be back in the White House and good old fashioned Christian values will once again be cherished and espoused by the leader of the leader of the free world and the most powerful man on earth. “If I can say that I had at least one beautiful moment in the last three weeks during my illegal incarceration by the EFCC this was it. “As the news filtered into the underground cells that Trump had won I shouted “praise the Lord” at the top of my voice to the utter amazement and chagrin of my cell-mates and the cell-guards. “Finally let it be clearly understood that the implications of a Trump presidency for Nigeria are far-reaching and self-evident. “Those that came to power last year on the the mantle of islamic domination, religious intolerance and racial discrimination and that espoused the most hideous form of ethnic bigotry and religious fanatacism certainly have a lot of soul-searching to do because there friends in the Obama White House are on their way out and their darling Hilary is not coming in to replace him. “I assure you that President Donald Trump, who I have known and studied closely for many years, will literally give them hell. “Not only will he resist their constant and gross violations of human rights and civil liberties but he will.also bring them to justice for their regular use of genocide against religious and ethnic minorities in our country. “He will also confront their hidden agenda to islamise Nigeria and turn us into a nation of ethnic and religious vassals that must bow before President Muhammadu Buhari and his kinsmen. “For those that wield political power in Nigeria and for the small cabal of ethnic hegemonists, “born to rule” irredentists and religious bigots that run the affairs of our nation, the writing is on the wall. “Their days are numbered because those that put them in power from America have themselves been shamed and removed from power by the Living God. “In the next few years many changes will take place in politics throughout the world as the forces of Christendom and right-wing nationalism ride on the crest of a rising tide and a beautiful wave. “Nothing will be able to stop the irresistable and righteous quest for self-determination and the reawakening of ancient cultural identitities all over the world in the next few months which has come as a consequence of the Trump victory. “It started with Brexit in the United Kingdom and the rise of right wing and ultra nationalist political parties like Marie Le Pen’s National Front in France, Italy, Holland and Germany. It has now culminated in a Trump victory in the United States of America. “Throughout the world there is a new, strong and rising tide of resisitance to governmental tyranny, the propagatiion of political correctness, the imposition of foreign and alien values, the establishment of state-sponsored slavery, the promotion of anti-Judeo-Christian philosophies, the enforcement of religious bigotry and servitude, the pampering and accomodation of radical islam and terror and the supression of ethnic and religious minorities. “We in Nigeria will not be left out. The time for our final emancipation and permanent liberation from the representatives of satan on earth, the foces of darkness and our internal colonial masters are at hand. “Freedom beckons and greatness calls all those who dare to believe and who are courageous enough to damn the consequences and take it. If Trump can turn the tide and the tables in America then we, by the grace of God, can also do it here. “As my friend Jackie Macgunn wrote on Facebook, “A Putin/Trump/Netanyahu coalition is the worst nightmare for the world sponsors of terror and marks the end of an era of the Washington apologists for ISIS, AL Qaeda, AL Nusra, the Taliban, AL Shabab, Boko Haram and the Fulani militants and herdsmen”. “This is what they call the “Trump-effect” and those that are not comfortable with it must be prepared to live with it for the next eight years whether they like it or not. “I thank God for President-elect Donald J. Trump and I trust and believe God that his era will.be one of great glory for the United States of America and indeed the civilised world.”

Again, Nigerian Obioha to be executed tomorrow in Singapore over possession of drugs

Amnesty International, yesterday, called on Singapore to immediately halt Friday’s planned execution of Chijoke Stephen Obioha, a Nigerian national on death row for possession of drugs. Obioha’s family was informed that his appeal for clemency has been rejected. He is set to be executed tomorrow. State execution Rafendi Djamin, Amnesty International’s Director for South-East Asia and the Pacific, said: “The Singapore government still has time to halt the execution of Chijoke Stephen Obioha. We are dismayed that clemency has not been granted in his case, but remain hopeful that they won’t carry out this cruel and irreversible punishment against a person sentenced to the mandatory death penalty for a crime that should not even be punished by death. “The death penalty is never the solution. It will not rid Singapore of drugs. By executing people for drug-related offences, which do not meet the threshold of most serious crimes, Singapore is violating international law. “Most of the world has turned its back on this ultimate cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment. It is about time that Singapore does the same, starting by restoring a moratorium on all executions as a first step towards abolition of this punishment.” Amnesty International opposes the death penalty in all circumstances, regardless of the method of execution or the crime for which it is imposed, and believes that there is no credible evidence that the death penalty has a unique deterrent effect. Background Obioha was found in possession of more than 2.6 kilogrammes of cannabis in April 2007, surpassing the amount of 500 grammes that triggers the automatic presumption of trafficking under Singapore law. Under Singaporean law, when there is a presumption of drug possession and trafficking, the burden of proof shifts from the prosecutor to the defendant. This violates the right to a fair trial by turning the presumption of innocence on its head. Drug-related offences do not meet the threshold of the “most serious crimes” to which the use of the death penalty must be restricted under international law. International law also prohibits the imposition of the death penalty as a mandatory punishment and Amnesty International opposes the use of the death penalty outright, regardless of the crime.

Dangote Pledges To Help FG Turn Around Nigeria’s Economy

Foremost industrialist and richest man in Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has restated his commitment to assist the Federal Government in turning around and diversifying the country’s economy.

He said this in Lagos on Friday where he was honoured as “Man of the Year 2015’’ by The Guardian Newspapers Limited.

He said that he was working hard with his company to take Nigeria to the next level and that within the next two and half years, Nigeria was going to excel in some critical areas.

“We want to do that by looking at critical areas where Nigeria is not doing well in terms of local production and tackle the problem areas.

“Number one is refinery, Dangote Group is building a refinery which will produce 650,000 barrels of petrol per day; the current capacity that we have as a country now, both the ones that are working and the ones not working, is just 450,000 barrels per day.

“Our petrochemical is ten times that of Eleme, we are at 1.3 million, Eleme is 120,000, so it will be the largest petrochemical industry in Africa.

“In fertilizer production, we are not only trying to satisfy the market, but our size is three million tonnes which is ten times more than what is available in Nigeria today.

“We are trying to make sure we satisfy the local needs and also export and we thought about how to address our power issues, the only way we can address power issues is to have enough gas and sort out distribution.

“Distribution is important because unless you collect money from the consumers, you cannot grow.

“There are two sub-sea gas pipelines coming from Bonny which will produce about three billion volume of gas which is exactly about the same size of LNG.

“We are committed to turning around the economy of Nigeria and in the next two and a half years, Nigeria will be the highest oil petroleum products export country, will be the highest in terms of fertilizer export, will be the highest in petrochemicals export.

“Nigeria will also be the highest in terms of cement export in Africa,’’ he said.

Speaking on bailouts for the states, Dangote said: “I don’t believe the Federal Government should continue to be bailing out the states, the states have to sit down and plan to cut costs instead of looking for bailout and being lazy.

“They can create jobs and give incentives to people to come and invest, they should assure people that they are not going to be slammed with various taxes which is what some of them do.’’

Dangote added that the current situation of the economy would push people to work harder, to work in terms of diversifying the economy.

Earlier, the publisher of Guardian Newspapers Limited, Lady Maiden Ibru, had said that they were honouring Dangote because of his impact on the lives of Nigerians and Africa.

She restated the role of the newspaper in the society as working for the enduring benefits of the people and being critical and identifying as well as publicizing heroes as a way of redirecting the values of the society.

The first “Man of the Year’’ award was presented to former president Olusegun Obasanjo in 1987.

Some of the guests at the event were former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, Bishop Alexander Gianniris of the Diocese of Greek Orthodox Church, and former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Chris Ali. (NAN)

Wife Of LASU Lecturer Pregnant For Her Bricklayer Lover

The wife of Lagos State University (LASU) lecturer, Mrs Kafayat Oyekunle, has revealed that she is now pregnant for her bricklayer lover, Fatai Alimi.

Alimi was arraigned in court on Thursday for allegedly snatching her from her husband, Suraju Oyekunle in Lagos, Nigeria.

The 36-year-old woman made the revelation when she went to the court to bail Alimi from custody.

She also said her decision to dump her husband and move into Alimi’s home was due to her inability to bear another child after 13 years she had lived with Oyekunle.

She revealed that after their only son was born 12 years ago, they had tried all they could to bear another child to no avail until a few months ago when she met Alimi and she immediately became pregnant for him.

Kafayat denied she was abducted and said it was a decision she took voluntarily because Oyekunle was not taking care of her.

She said since she met Alimi, things had changed in her life and she now had rest of mind.

She also revealed that her family was aware of the development and are in support of her decision.

She added that she will do everything possible to bail Alimi.

When asked to compare Alimi with Oyekunle, she said Alimi was better in everything despite his poor status in the society.

The 34-year-old Alimi was arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly snatching Kafayat.
The incident happened in Igando area of Lagos, Nigeria, where Oyekunle resided with Kafayat and their only son.

Kafayat was allegedly so much in love with Alimi that she packed all her property and moved into the bricklayer’s small apartment in undisclosed place in the same Igando with their only male child.

Kafayat had married Oyegunle for 13 years and the marriage produced their only son before she met Alimi and moved out of her matrimonial home on 15 October, 2016.

P.M. EXPRESS gathered that Kafayat told her neighbours that she decided to consolidate on the new relationship by moving into Alimi’s apartment when her husband travelled.

When her husband returned from his trip and did not find his wife and son, he started making inquiries and neighbours informed him that his wife had moved into Alimi’s house as his new wife.

Oyekunle went straight and reported the matter at Igando police division who trailed Alimi and eventually arrested him at a construction site in Igando where he had gone to work.

Ogun State-born Alimi was brought to court on Thursday and charged with conduct likely to cause breach of peace by taking Kafayat and the only son produced through her marriage to Suraju, knowing full well that she was legally married.

He pleaded not guilty and the presiding Magistrate, Mr A. A. Fashola granted him bail in the sum of N25,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.

The matter was adjourned till 12 December, 2016

Mikel disagrees with Rohr, clarifies Chelsea position

MIKEL Obi has again disagreed with Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr for the second time this week when he insisted he is not being shut out at his club Chelsea because he featured at the recent Rio Olympics. Nigeria skipper Mikel said in a statement that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte supported him to feature at the Olympics and there is mutual respect between he, the manager and the Nigeria national team. “I’d like to clarify that the recent media claims that I’ve been punished by Chelsea FC for participating at the Rio 2016 Olympics are completely inaccurate,” read the statement. mikel Obi   “Unfortunately comments made by Gernot Rohr before the 3-1 win over Algeria were both mistranslated and taken out of context by the Nigerian media, as English isn’t Mr Rohr’s or much of the Nigerian media’s first language. “To be absolutely clear, Mr Conte and Chelsea were always fully supportive of my captaincy of the Nigerian team at Rio. “The manager gave me his full blessing to participate at the Olympics, and even encouraged me to bring back the gold medal – something I spoke to the media about at the time. “It goes without saying there is nothing but absolute respect between myself, the Nigerian national team and Chelsea FC, something that was demonstrated by Mr Rohr’s recent visit to Cobham. “My only focus now is on winning more silverware with Chelsea and getting Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup, two challenges I can’t wait to face in the coming months.” Before the match against Algeria on Saturday, Mikel told the local media he would accept a draw with the North Africans, while Rohr made it very clear the Eagles need to win at home to stay on course for Russia 2018.

How I work—SUSPECT In his profile on Facebook, he is Segun Bayo, a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, and goes about adding several ladies as friends. According to him, after two weeks, he would start chatting with them, saying “the profile picture on my Facebook account is that of a guy based in London. As part of my introduction to ladies, I tell them that I am a construction engineer and that my parents and I are living Europe. “After sometime, I would lure them into sexual conversations during which I persuade them to send their nude pictures to me. They would send and I would send mine to them too. “Before that I would pretend that I was seeking a serious relationship with them, and that very soon I would be coming to Abuja on a business trip, during which I would see them. “I would also feign seriousness by calling them with the aid of a computer software that transforms my Nigerian line into an international line. “Meanwhile, I would warn them that I was calling through a public phone booth. As soon as they have sent their nude pictures, I would come up with all manners of stories, then begin to extort and blackmail them. “Through these means, I have collected over N121,000 from my latest victims. I was jailed last years for fraudulently collecting N700,000 from a lady I met through a dating site. I was eventually bailed, but the case is still pending in court. “I have collected only 10,000 from Funmilola; Motunrayo, N6,000; Joy, N5,000 and Lizzy, N100,000.” Victims won’t press charges A source in RRS disclosed that apart from Lizzy, who reported the incident but declined to press charges, three other suspects, who were discovered during investigations, acknowledged on phone that they had been paying the suspect so he will not leak their nude photographs online. The source added that though investigators had uncovered more victims after checking the suspect’s Facebook conversations, all of them had refused to come forward after confirming they were paying the suspect through his bank account. The source added that out of the 210 friends on his Facebook profile, over 195 were young ladies. Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Dolapo Badmus, said a thorough investigation on the case was ongoing. The suspect has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for further investigations.
